The name of the blog is a tip of the hat to Art Jones and his documentary “The Blood in this Town,” about Rutland’s attempts to lift itself out of a downward slide.
It’s a loving look at our home, warts and all. Art and the members of the Creative Economy are taking it from place to place, talking about what is happening here, and how. It’s interesting in part because it is about “Rutland,” but it’s about the county, not the city per se. Many of the CE leaders come from towns around (Middletown Springs, Rutland Town, Chittenden, Mendon) as well as the city proper. We’re one big community, something our leaders need to remember more often.
