Calvin and Hobbes … through the eyes of a 4 (and 3/4) year old

I was explaining to Finian how Hobbes is really a stuffed toy, so he would understand one of the jokes in my Calvin & Hobbes book, when he interrupted me, explaining quite seriously that Hobbes is a real tiger who just pretends to be a stuffed toy when somebody is around.

I started to correct him and I thought, well, why not? He’s got plenty of years to understand it the other way around, and for now, it makes him happy.
